Rock The Universe

We are leaving the church at 3pm for Rock the Universe. Please arrive on time.

You will need to bring some cash for dinner and snacks through the night. $20 should be more than plenty.

We will return home around 1:30am. Parents will receive a phone call on our return home about the time we pass Viera to give you a more exact time for arrival. But you can plan on about 1:30am.

Sunday Night Dinners

If you have not helped prepare dinner on Sunday nights, please join in on the fun! We need everyone's help to make Sunday night special for each youth that comes. There are many spots available, as you can see. Thanks for your help.

Parent Meeting
On Sunday, September 12th, all parens of youth are invited to join us for our annual parent meeting. We will meet in the cafe' at 7pm.

You will recevied a calendar of events through next year. You will also be given a 2010-2011 Consent and Release Form. Some of you will have already had this filled out for Rock the Universe, but each student will need to have a new one on file with the church.

We will also spend some time discussing some program changes that will begin in January 2011. We hope to see you there!
  Pumpkin Patch
Pumpkins will return this year on October 16th at 8:30am. Based on the feedback of a few parents we will be giving this fundraiser another shot. This is the best opportunity for youth to raise funds. Over the past 4 years youth have raised between $17 and $28 an hour that they worked. there is not another fundrasier that outperforms Pumpkin Patch. Many people can only afford the trips we take because of the support of fundraising.

Parents are expected to be involved. The Pumpkin Patch cannot be open if it is solely staffed by youth. An adult must be present. At least one parent of the youth working the patch must be present. We want all shifts open this year. An open shift simply means more sales and that leads to more funds raised for youth accounts!

Pumpkins will be delivered on October 16th at 8:30am and the more hands the better. Bring your entire family to help. It's a lot of work but a lot of fun too. We will have drinks here for you, but you should eat breakfast before you arrive.

The pumpkin patch schedule will be up soon near the youth room for you to sign up on. We will sell pumpkins through the 31st. The last three days of the patch, including Halloween, are our biggest sales days. Be sure to check the website to when the schedule will be posted.

Did You Know About That?
Bryant Johnson
It's another busy school year. As active as our youth are, it's easy to feel like you're not getting all the information about events. Keeping up with school info, sports activities, clubs, and church youth group events can just about max out your calendar in a matter of moments.

We are doing our best to keep you up to speed in many forms of communication. The first tool is the website. You will find ongoing information across the top links, upcoming events along the left side, some additional info and links on the right, and then in the middle annoucnements as they are made. If you feel like you missed a recent announcement, then at the bottom you will see an option to click on a previous page link.

Then of course you have this email. I won't say too much about it, other than here it is. But really, send it on to other parents and encourage them to subscribe, which is also on the home page of the website.

Then there is the Facebook Group page. If you are a part of Facebook, hit this link and request to be a group member.
 Find us on Facebook

We are also texting out announcements and reminders as they come up. The texting is last minute reminders and will come the day before and day of deadlines and events. It's so that you don't forget. If you have unlimited texting, please sign up.

Last but not least, we make announcements each week at each program. Don't forget to share these with your parents and parents - don't forget to ask.

Sincerely,
